NITS Polytechnic is the oldest unaided Technical Institute in the state of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) which was established in the year 1984 primarily to cater to the need of students desirous of pursuing technical education after the Secondary School Certificate examination. NITS Polytechnic is affiliated to the J&K State Board of Technical Education and conducts courses approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and recognised by Govt. of J&k . It fulfils all the norms and standards set by the AICTE as well as the J&K State Board of Technical Education.
